One among 108 dhivya dhEsams, thirumeyyam (locally known as thirumayyam) is also known as sathyagiri, sathya kshEthram, sathya thIrtham, etc. thirumangai AzhwAr performed mangaLAsAsanam to this dhivya dhEsam emperumAns in 9 of his pAsurams (detailed listing in http://thirumeyyam.koyil.org/?page_id=41).


There are two emperumAns mainly in this dhivya dhEsam. sathyamUrthy perumAL and thirumeyyar emperumAN (sayana thirukkOlam/reclining posture). Apart from this there are separate sannidhis for srI rAma, kaNNan emperumAn, ANdAL, AzhwArs and AchAryas.

thirumeyya malaiyALa rAmAnuja jIyar was born in 1840, accepted sannyAsam at an early age of 35, settled in thirumeyyam, built a mutt there, performed kAlakshEpams and arranged for thadhIyArAdhanam in this dhivya dhEsam. He finally ascended to paramapadham from this same dhivya dhEsam. In the recent past with the initiative of thirumeyya malaiyALa rAmAnuja jIyar swamy trust, dhivya prabhandham is constantly being recited and many uthsavams are celebrated with great enthusiasm. Recently, in april 2013, punar prathishtA (re-establishment) of archA vigrahams (uthsavar) for nammAzhwAr, thirumangai AzhwAr, emperumAnAr and maNavALa mAmunigaL was performed and since then many uthsavams focussed on AzhwAr/AchArya vaibhavams are celebrated enthusiastically.

srI krishNamUrthy bhattar and 4 other sthAnIkars (local srIvaishNavas) take care of sannidhi kainkaryams. sri kalyaNa rAman swami has been taking care of thirumadaippaLLi (cooking) kainkaryam for over 33 years. srImAn Trust, srIrangam (founded by parAsara badhri nArAyaNa bhattar swamy) honoured srI krishNamUrthy bhattar and srI kalyANa rAman swamy for their tireless kainkaryam over many years at this dhivya dhEsam. They were honoured at srI kUrathAzhwAn sannidhi, srIrangam in December 2013.

thirumeyya malaiyALa rAmAnuja jIyar swamy trust takes care of “aruLicheyal (dhivya prabhandham) kainkaryam” during all main Events at this dhivya dhEsam.
